Memorial Day is a special day to me and many others. Growing up and throughout my life I have always been patriotic..I am lucky...I was born on American soil in Japan. Because my father was American..it was my gift..my luck..I am proud.
There is something to be said about people who place other's first and fight for their country..for what is right..for what is good..and yes they follow orders! It's their job and I am grateful for them!
It was not long ago I adopted a platoon, it was an honor and a gift. While I wanted to do it again..this time I was not offered a platoon but instead a 26 man/woman unit. It's the least I can do.
To me I find this so important...because sometimes those that serve..get forgotten! I love our military personnel and yes I am very patriotic.
So today while you are enjoying the parades, the bbq's and dedications..lets take a moment and think about those who are serving...who haven't seen their families or who have been away from home for sometime. Today, don't forget those that protect this wonderful country we call the United States!
p.s. Joey if you see this know we miss you and love you and can't wait to see your smiling face at our door again. We are so proud and honored to know you!
